I sat down two weeks ago with Tom Arnold at the Laugh Factory, right before his weekly show, to ask him some questions about live comedy. I was a little nervous because this was my first video interview with a comedian. At the end of the interview, I wasn’t exactly sure what happened because I didn’t have to do too much. Tom just opened up about his career, stand-up, and where he is today. It was almost like listening to your dad or uncle or mentor talk about his life and what he’s learned. I dug it. We talked for about 40 minutes about all kinds of things. The video is edited to reflect a cohesive story that I thought our audience would enjoy. It’s about 22 minutes long. Keep in mind I don’t know jack about filming, lighting, and editing. So the film quality is a little off, the lighting is a little low, and the editing is a little hard. But I did the best I could and to be honest…I couldn’t be happier with it. Hope you enjoy.

Referencing Second City and he says Farley and… Dax Shepherd? Could have pulled out a million other references, but Dax? Hilarious. Btw, Dax is a Sunday Company alumn of the Groundlings, not Second City.
This isn’t to rip Tom – love the guy – just love how on-the-fly this interview is where he’s not completely thinking through his thoughts like he would with a PR goon standing over him. Very raw – love it.
Well, he did say Groundlings and Second City. I thought he just said Second City. I’m the a-hole.
Glad you liked it. Yeah…the rawness is what I enjoyed about doing it. I’m glad that came across because the whole thing was totally on the fly.
The rawness is great. If you listen to this without knowing him or what he does, his experience could be applicable to many people that are trying to make it big in any field.
Website and logo look awesome!
Great interview. He really opened up and wasn’t playing to the camera or crowd. Props to Tom Arnold for going back to stand-up and props to B Mulvi for making the interview happen.
