Canadian Comic Russell Peters at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on February 16
Russell Peters seems to be a bigger stand-up comedian internationally than he is in the U.S. and the powers that be are trying to make him big here. Now…I’ve seen him a few times at the Laugh Factory…and I thought he was good but I’m not entirely sure what the deal is. I feel like this approach is forced…maybe it’s me. He’s playing theWaMU Theater at Madison Square Garden and the Nokia Theater down by Staples Center. My assumption is that “they” feel that there is a large enough international population in these two markets to fill these theaters…and pay $50 a ticket. So we’ll see how that goes.
