Back in my single days, my go to move was to take a girl to a live comedy show. It’s a no brainer for a single dude. Here’s why:
1. It’s inexpensive. Who wants to spend a ton of dough on a chick you don’t even know that well.
2. The comedians do most of the heavy lifting. Every dude thinks they’re hilarious. You’re not. Let the professionals do the work. At the end of the night, she’ll think you made her laugh.
3. It’s a great gauge for the future. If a girl isn’t laughing at dirty jokes by Sam Tripoli and Jason Gillearn…do you really want to be with her? No. That’s a sign of things to come. Or not to come as the case may be.
4. At least YOU laughed. Worst case scenario, the girl ends up being a bitch. Good thing Tom Segura made you laugh your ass off so you didn’t have to talk to her. Good times all around.
Basically, what I’m saying is…live comedy is the perfect date. And this week I recommend two great options:
Tuesday, June 16/Ballgame’s Laugh Lounge/8:30/Red Rock/Free/Parking $4/No Drink Min.
Let Ryan Sickler and Bert Kreischer get your girl in the mood. Two of the funniest guys I know.
Thursday, June 18/Ronna and Beverly/9:30/UCB LA/$5/Street Parking or Valet for $6/BYOB
Take a nice Jewish girl to see the funniest improv duo in the city. They’ll give you advice from their book, “You’ll Do a Little Better Next Time: A Guide to Marriage & Remarriage for Jewish Singles”.
Seriously…you could take out two different girls for a grand total of like $30…all in. By the way, ladies…these rules go for you too. It’s the 21st Century. Get your groove on.
